How resilient organisations bounce forward
A company is a group of people working together to achieve a common goal. Without people, there is no company. As we enter the new normal it is time to understand and support the people who will guide our organisations into the new business landscape. Disruption is certain. People will need to bounce, grow, connect and flow. We call this resilience.
Re-imagine
Where do we want to be in 3, 6, 12 months? How about in 3 years? What went really well during the lockdown and what issues arose? How are our customers and suppliers managing? Can we support their efforts or learn from what is working for them. Leaders need to clearly articulate their vision for the new normal. If this proves difficult, ask the team for their perspectives.
Revisit values and purpose – for many, these have changed. Find purpose in the company vision – to serve customers or add value to the world. Consider your triple bottom line – there has never been a better time.
Benchmark human strengths and risks

In times of challenge and uncertainty, it is critical to understand the resilience strengths and risks within your workforce. IT teams use diagnostic tools to assess technology availability, reliability, robustness, safety, security, and survivability.
At the Resilience Institute, we help organisations create an inventory of human factors. Resilience strengths increase cohesion and upgrade productivity. Resilience risks, when unchecked, send us to an unfocused, disengaged state.
The Resilience Diagnostic is part of the Resilience App toolkit. It provides participants with blueprints of their own resilience and a clear action plan for improvement. Organisations receive powerful group reports detailing 60 factors that span mental health through to wellbeing, emotional intelligence and high performance. Imagine being able to pinpoint the situation agility score for leaders, or the level of empathy within a sales team. How about measuring sleep quality for a team of technicians, or focus for a medical team.

Learn
Whether it is a new technology or fundamentals like securing a good night’s sleep, this is the time for upskilling. Resilience, like technical skills, can be learned.
The results from resilience training interventions are clear.
