General FAQ

What is resilience?

Resilience is growth as a whole person – a learned fitness for life, work and education. Through resilience skills we master how to bounce in adversity, connect with others, and discover flow in our daily life and work.

Resilience combines a series of other skills including Awareness, Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Mental and Physical wellbeing.

What is this tool for?

The Resilience Diagnostic provides insight. It offers a perspective on your resilience and suggests actions you can take to improve.

What is the Resilience Ratio?

This is a score that compares your strengths to your risks. An ideal Resilience Ratio is 2.5 strengths to every risk, or above.

How can you measure ROI?

By knowing the relationship between a human factor (sleep, distress, focus, flow) you know the cost or benefit of change. For example, if sleep costs the average business $2,500 per person and an overall employee sleep improves by 30%, you have saved $750 per person per year.

Will digital and virtual training will replace the classroom?

Good virtual and digital training platforms can be more effective than face-to-face training and are much more cost-effective. Properly communicated and supported by leaders, internal champions and selected workshops, you can expect >90% engagement. This is due to training precisely targeted to the learner and available 24/7 on digital devices.

Can I share the tool with anyone?

Access Codes have preset amounts of users, if there is someone in your company you would like to have access to the programme please contact the person who introduced the programme to the company.

If you would like to share the tool with someone you don't work say, such as a friend or family member, you can now purchase individual access. To learn more, click here.

If you would like to recommend us to another business, please feel free to send them an email and copy Brad Hook from our team: [email protected]

Privacy and Security

Is personal information confidential?

Yes, personal diagnostic results are private and never shared with your employer. We take privacy seriously and have designed our app platform to comply with GDPR regulations.

Only aggregate results are shared with the employer or administrator who provided you with access to the tool.

Is the platform secure?

Yes, The Resilience App is GDPR compliant and regularly tested on all devices. We have been running bank-level security on our assessments since 2002 and have stood up to the strict security standards required by leading banks, professional firms and insurers.

Resilience App and Programme

What results can I expect?

Results will depend on the efforts of the individual but the average increase is 38% in performance drivers and a 31% reduction in risk factors over a six month period.

How does your solution work?

Through a combination of in-app journeys and in-person or digital workshops. We create bespoke solutions for each client based on their specific needs.

How are needs individualised?

Each participant gets their own specific report with personalised recommendations and practice tips to guide their learning priorities.

Where can I download the app?

You can download the app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store

You can also access a web-version of the app at resilience.guide

Remember, you must already have an Access Code in order to log in and use the app.

Once signed up, how do I get started?

Once the app has been downloaded and the access code entered, all users will fill out a pre-diagnostic questionnaire to get their initial results before beginning their resilience journey.

Can we include our own content?

Yes, you can launch a communication program, videos from your leaders and specific resources from within our programme.

Will people use the app?

Engagement in the assessment is consistently above 90% thanks to goal-setting and chatbot use. With an ongoing facilitation program and internal champions you can lift engagement to over 90% on all functionality. However, this is not always the objective, some clients simply want resources readily available for staff when required.

How long does it take to set up App access?

Team access can be setup in as little as thirty minutes. Individual access is immediate.

What else is expected of me?

Absolutely nothing. Users will get as much out of the programme as they put in, so it is completely up to them.

Will this measure mental health, wellbeing, distress, emotional intelligence and mental skills?

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.

How detailed is your reporting?

Our standard report includes business unit, team, location, gender, age group and level of seniority. Personal diagnostic results are private and never shared with your employer.

What if someone has a very low score?

The platform is designed to support your top performers as much as those struggling with mental illness. There are several notifications to seek support if there is evidence of symptoms and the Chatbot will guide users to reputable mental health professionals anywhere in the world. Participants can also always reach out directly and confidentially to us.

Remember, the Resilience Diagnostic is not a medical diagnosis - it is a reflection of your assessment scores with relation to the past two weeks.

Clients include Icehouse, PwC, KPMG, Fletcher Building, New Zealand Rugby, AXA and more.

Do you only help corporations?

Not at all, individuals, small groups and schools can sign up and go through the programme, anyone who wants to learn resilience can register. We also offer training to those who want to become resilience coaches.

Can you support a global workforce?

Yes, we have run regular psychometrics since 2008 to test reliability, validity and confirmatory factor analysis. Our Cronbach Alpha is consistently above 80% on all factors and still improving.

Which human factors do you cover?

We cover physiological, physical, emotional and cognitive factors from both strength and risk perspectives.

Is this associated with religion?

No, we are committed to be evidence-based (peer reviewed), integral (respectful of body, heart, mind and persuasion) and practical (result-orientated) solutions. Our work is grounded in medicine, neurobiology, psychology, sports science and data analytics.

Questions asked in the diagnostic test are neutral and do not reference gender, race, religion or other potential factors for discrimination.

Can you help with technical skill training?

No, but impacts on human factors have shown to improve application of technical skills.

Webinars

Is there a limit to how many participants can attend?

There is no limit to the number of participants at each session.

How do we communicate the session to our team?

We will provide you with a session description and a link that participants can click to join the webinar. After the session, we will provide you with a recording that you can place on your intranet.

Can we use our own webinar software for the session?

Yes, we have successfully used Zoom, WebEx, Skype for Business, Google Hangouts and many more. We will test before the session takes place.

Do I need more than one webinar?

That is up to you. Most organisations run two or more webinars. The first provides an introduction to resilience and the subsequent sessions deep-dive into specific topics. However, we are happy to work with you to design a single session or series of webinars that will suit your needs.

Do you offer a self-assessment or video training?

Absolutely, our Resilience App compliments webinars perfectly. We often present group strengths and risks as the starting conversation.

If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.
